UCF vs. Michigan Prediction
Can No. 5 Michigan have an easy time with Central Florida when the two meet up in Ann Arbor on Saturday at Noon ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Michigan is the clear favorite in this game, as the Wolverines are getting odds of -35 points against the Golden Knights. The over/under total for the game has been set at 55 points. These two have no recent meetings
Michigan couldn’t have asked for much better of a start to 2016, as the Wolverines throttled Hawaii, 63-3. Michigan covered a 38-point spread and hit the over for a ninth consecutive game. Michigan outgained Hawaii 512-232 in the contest and forced two turnovers on defense. Wilton Speight was given the ball as the starting quarterback and he went 10 of 13 passing for 145 yards and three touchdowns. The big plus for Michigan was rushing for 306 yards as a team, averaging 7.8 yards per carry. Chris Evans led the way with 112 yards on eight carries and two touchdowns.
Central Florida started the year with a 38-0 win over South Carolina State. The Knights covered the 26-point spread and hit the under. The win snapped a 13-game losing streak for UCF that dated back to the 2014 season. UCF had a 466-223 advantage in total yards and was able to display a balanced attack on offense with 265 passing yards and 201 yards on the ground. Justin Holman threw for 193 yards and two touchdowns while three different players, including Holman, rushed for 40 yards or more.
Michigan looked unstoppable against a bad team like Hawaii and Central Florida isn’t much better. The Knights were winless last year and managed to beat up on a nobody last week. The Wolverines should continue to pound the rock down UCF’s throat and the Knights aren’t likely to have much success doing the same on Michigan. The Wolverines’ defense looks to be carrying over from last season, which means a lot of short possessions for UCF.
