According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Michigan State is favored on the road, as the Spartans are getting odds of -17.5 points against the Broncos. The over/under total for the game has been set at 58.5 points. These two met in 2013 with MSU getting a 26-13 home victory. The Broncos have covered in two of their last four against the Spartans.

Michigan State is coming off an 11-2 season in 2014 with a 7-1 Big Ten record. The Spartans’ two losses last year came against Ohio State and Oregon, the two playoff finalists. MSU was 9-4 against the spread and 10-3 with the over in 2014. The Spartans have hit the over in 6 straight non-conference games. Mark Dantonio is in his ninth season with the Spartans. He has a 75-31 record with the team and has won at least 11 games in four of the last five years. Western Michigan was 8-5 in 2014 with a 6-2 MAC record. The Broncos were 10-3 against the spread while going 8-5 with the over last season. Western Michigan has hit the over in 5 of its last 6 non-conference games. PJ Fleck is in his third season as coach of Western Michigan. The team went from just one win in 2013 to eight in 2014, making Fleck one of the top young coaches in the country. Fleck has some talented skill players to work with, led by QB Zach Terrell and RB Jarvion Franklin. Franklin rushed for 1,551 yards and 24 touchdowns last year while Terrell threw for 3,443 yards and 26 scores.
