Utah State Aggies Game Notes

Mountain West Wire named Utah State redshirt senior QB Logan Bonner the top quarterback in the MWC. Bonner (6'1/230) excelled when he followed HC Blake Andersen from Arkansas State to Utah State prior to last season. With four years in HC Andersen's air-raid style, pass-heavy offense Bonner quickly took hold of the quarterback room and helped turn around a bottom-dwelling Aggies program who won the MWC last season. The super senior completed 265-of-432 passes for a career-high 3,651 yards, 36 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while earning a strong 80.7 offensive grade according to PFF. Bonner will once again lead USU in defense of their conference championship in his final college season.

Alabama Crimson Tide Game Notes

On an appearance with McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning on Wednesday, Alabama HC Nick Saban said that the 2021 season was a rebuilding year. If last season was a rebuilding year for Nick Saban, it begs the question of what a teardown might look like. From the get-go, the Crimson Tide was dominant, starting with a win against Miami in Atlanta. Not only did Alabama win the SEC West and the SEC Championship, but they also made it to the National Championship game with a quarterback in Bryce Young that win the Heisman Trophy. This season, the Crimson Tide are favorites to win the National Championship with +175 odds per Draft Kings Sportsbook.
