Louisiana Tech vs. Arkansas Pick
Will Louisiana Tech and Arkansas be a high-scoring affair for bettors this afternoon when the two teams meet at 4:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Razorbacks are now a 24.5-point favorite versus Louisiana Tech after opening as a 22-point fave. As for the total, the number opened at 54 before being bet down to 52 at most sports books.
The Bulldogs covered the spread in seven of their 13 games in 2015, winning by an average margin of 10.7 points per contest. As an underdog, which is what they'll be today, the Bulldogs were 1-1 against the spread, losing by an average margin of -15.5, and in non-conference games LA Tech was 4-1 at the betting window. (See why we believe the Bulldogs will cover today.)
In all games last season, the Razorbacks were 8-5 against the spread, winning by an average margin of 8.5 points per contest. They were .500 against the spread at home, covering in three of their six home games, and were 4-4 against the number as a favorite in 2015.
OUR PICK: Everyone knows about Brett Bielema's physical rushing attack. The Razorbacks want to pound you over and over again until you want nothing to do with tackling their running backs in the fourth quarter. But this year's Arkansas' squad should have a component passing game thanks to quarterback Austin Allen and receivers Drew Morgan and Cody Hollister. LA Tech is experiencing plenty of turnovers this offseason but should be able to move the ball on Arkansas' secondary. The two teams should combine for enough points to push the total over.
