APPALACHIAN STATE: Quarterback Taylor Lamb is heading home this weekend. The four-year starter is a native of Calhoun, playing a key role in beating Buford 27-24 in the 2011 GHSA AA state championship. “I’m sure he has a chip on his shoulder and showed he could’ve played here,” Georgia senior defensive back Aaron Davis said. “I expect him to go out and try to have the best game of his career.”
GEORGIA: Head coach Kirby Smart said that he has no specific plans to get freshman signal-caller Jake Fromm into Saturday’s opener. Fromm will have to wait his turn as Jacob Eason is set to start again this season after playing as a freshman a year ago. Of course, no matter who is under center, the Bulldogs offense will run through running back Nick Chubb.
