Kent State vs. Clemson Pick
Is Clemson a safe bet this Saturday as a massive home favorite versus Kent State?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Tigers are now 39-point home favorites to beat the Golden Flashes after opening as a 40-point favorite. As for the total, the number hit the board at 51.5 but has been bet down to 51.

KENT STATE: Head coach Paul Haynes is taking a medical leave of absence from the Golden Flashes. “We fully support head coach Paul Haynes during his leave. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Haynes family as we look forward to his return to Kent State,” said AD Joel Nielsen in a statement. Offensive coordinator Don Treadwell will serve as interim head coach while Haynes is out.
CLEMSON: Coach Dabo Swinney received a new eight-year, $54 million contract extension earlier this week. His new contract is set to run through the 2024 season and will pay him an average of $6.75 million per season. In a statement, AD Dan Radakovich said, “Dabo’s impact on our football program, our university and our community is immeasurable and goes well beyond the on-field successes and national championship.”

OUR PREDICTION: The Tigers are a perfect 4-0 against the spread in their last four non-conference games. They’ve also been an excellent bet at home, covering in eight of their last 11 games in Clemson. The Golden Flashes, meanwhile, are just 2-7 against the spread in their last nine games and are 11-24 ATS in their last 35 non-conference games. This is a lot of points, but Swinney and Co. will be hellbent to prove that they can win without Deshaun Watson, Mike Williams and Wayne Gallman. Plus, Kent State will have issues scoring, so I feel okay laying the points.
