SEC Conference Odds
The SEC is already going through Media Day week, which means the 2016 season isn’t too far off. Here’s a look at the latest odds to win the conference title.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Alabama is the favorite to win the conference once again, as the Tide are getting odds of +180 to win. Other short odds to win the title in 2016 are LSU (+300), Tennessee (+600) and Ole Miss (+800).
Alabama has won the SEC title game six times and is the two-time defending champion. The Tide has won the title three times in the last four years. Bama went 14-1 last season, winning the national title, while finishing 7-1 in the SEC. The Tide have some challenging road games in conference play, going to Ole Miss, Arkansas, Tennessee and LSU.
LSU has won the SEC Championship Game four times in its history, with the last title coming in 2011. The Tigers were 9-3 last season while going 5-3 in conference play. The Tigers will get to host Alabama and Ole Miss, but make road trips to Auburn, Florida, Arkansas and Texas A&M.
Tennessee has won the SEC Championship Game twice in its history, the last title coming in 1998. The Vols showed some new life last season, going 9-4 overall with a 5-3 record in the SEC. Tennessee returns a lot of talent and had another strong recruiting class. The Vols will get to host Alabama and Florida, but make road trips to Georgia, Texas A&M, South Carolina and Vanderbilt.
Ole Miss has never won or appeared in the SEC Championship Game in program history. The Rebels are coming off a 10-3 record in 2015 with a 6-2 mark in the SEC. However, an offseason of turmoil about the program has put pressure on coach Hugh Freeze. The Rebels host the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Auburn and Mississippi State, while making road trips to Arkansas, LSU, A&M and Vandy.
