Justin Thomas Heisman Odds
ATLANTA, GA (TheSpread) – Georgia Tech quarterback Justin Thomas is expected to have a big year for the Yellowjackets. Will it be enough to make him a Heisman contender?
According to the latest oddsmakers, Thomas is listed with 33/1 odds to win the Heisman Trophy in 2015. Currently, Ezekiel Elliott of Ohio State and Trevone Boykin of TCU are co-favorites at 7/1 while Nick Chubb of Georgia has 8/1 odds.
Thomas is entering his third season as quarterback of Georgie Tech. Last season was the first year that he was the full-time starting quarterback. He put up some good numbers, going 96 of 187 passing for 1,719 yards with 18 touchdowns and six interceptions. As a freshman, Thomas had just 17 passing attempts, throwing for 131 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.
Georgia Tech quarterbacks are more known for their rushing than their passing. Last season, Thomas rushed for 1,086 yards on 190 carries. He scored eight touchdowns and averaged 5.7 yards per carry. In 2013, Thomas had 33 rushing attempts for 234 yards with two scores. He averaged 7.1 yards per carry.
