Washington Season Odds
PULLMAN, WA (TheSpread) – After a promising debut season with the Washington Huskies, Chris Petersen hopes to take them to the next step in his second season. Will Washington make a run at the title in 2015?
According to oddsmakers at GTBets, Washington is currently listed with odds of 100/1 to win the College Football Playoffs next season. The Huskies are also currently getting a money line of +4000 to win the Pac-12 Championship.
Petersen made his debut with the Huskies in 2014, going 8-6 with a 4-5 mark in the Pac-12. Petersen had spent the previous eight seasons with Boise State, going 92-12 during that time with a 57-6 record in conference play.
In Washington’s first season with Petersen leading the way, the offense had a bit of a struggle. The team scored 30.2 points per game while posting 388.7 yards per contest. The strength was in the ground game, which averaged 188.6 yards per game. The team will have leading rusher Dwayne Washington back to lead the way. He had 697 rushing yards with nine touchdowns in 2014. Also back is Lavon Coleman, who rushed for 565 yards and one score. The Washington defense held opponents to just 24.8 points per contest, which put them 40th in the nation.
Washington opens the season at Petersen’s old stomping grounds of Boise State. Washington also hosts Utah State and Sacramento State in non-conference action. In Pac-12 play, the Huskies will host the likes of Cal, Oregon, Arizona Utah and Washington State while making trips to USC, Stanford, Arizona State and Oregon State. Washington can be a threat in the Pac-12 this year if it manages to develop an offense it can rely on.
