ESPN.com reports that Jennings, cornerback Dwayne Thomas and defensive lineman Maquedius Bain were arrested after police say they entered an apartment in an effort to retrieve items that Jennings reported stolen last week. Police charged the three players with unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and also charged Thomas with simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.
In a separate incident, LSU redshirt freshman defensive tackle Trey Lealaimatafao was also arrested and charged with attempted simple robbery and simple battery. Lealaimatafao allegedly rifled through the pockets of a man who had been beaten unconscious by unknown suspects during a brawl in the parking lot of a Baton Rouge bar. He then is accused of pushing the victim’s girlfriend and punching her in the face when she attempted to intervene.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Tigers are 25/1 to win the 2016 College Football FBS Championship. It’s unclear how long these players will remain suspended, although in the case of Lealaimatafao he might be finished at LSU.
