Seahawks star Marshawn Lynch ran untouched – he wasn’t allowed to be tackled – for a 22-yard touchdown, but the defense still won the spring game Saturday. The Cal defense, receiving points for turnovers, missed field goals, sacks and other stops, won 28-24.
The Bears drew 5,831 fans to Memorial Stadium.
Dykes was hired away from Louisiana Tech to replace Jeff Tedford after the Bears went 3-9 last season.
Lynch played for Tedford from 2004-06 before being drafted in the first round by the Buffalo Bills. Lynch says he hopes the new regime can turn the program “back into what it was when I was here.”
