On Tuesday, the head coach of the Gators, Will Muschamp, told reporters that nine players are out of spring ball with injuries, including three players that were in the starting lineup in 2013.

Running back Matt Jones, defensive tackle Leon Orr and return man Andre Debose are not taking part in the start of spring practices due to lingering injuries. Jones was third on the team in rushing last season, posting 339 yards and two scores.

Florida is coming off a rough 2013 season in which it went 4-8 overall and just 3-5 in the SEC. It was the worst season Florida has had since 1979.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Florida has 50/1 odds to win the 2015 FBS Championship. In-state rival Florida State is currently the favorite to win it all with 4/1 odds, while Alabama has 6/1 odds.

Florida opens the 2014 season on Saturday, Aug. 30 against Idaho at home. The Gators’ first test comes on Sept. 20 when they hit the road to face Alabama.
