Utah promotes Erickson
SALT LAKE CITY, UT (TheSpread) – Utah has made some adjustments to its coaching staff, promoting former NFL and college head coach, Dennis Erickson, to assistant head coach.
On Monday, Utah announced that Erickson will be the new assistant head coach, being promoted from running backs coach. Aaron Roderick and Jim Harding were also promoted to co-offensive coordinators while John Pease was hired as defensive coordinator.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Utah comes into the 2015 season with 100/1 odds to win the college football playoffs. Ohio State is favored to repeat as champs with 5/1 odds while Alabama and TCU each have 9/1 odds to win the title.

Utah went 9-4 last season and 5-4 in the Pac-12. The Utes had wins over the likes of UCLA and USC, with three of their losses coming to ranked opponents. Whittingham has been the head coach of Utah for 10 full seasons, going 85-43 in his time there. Last year’s 9-4 record was their best showing since joining the Pac-12 in 2011.
