Bulls can't solve Marquette

Buffalo lost its first game of the season eight nights ago with a 103-85 defeat at the Golden Eagles. The Bulls only trailed by one at halftime before being outscored 64-47 after the break. Jeremy Harris paced Buffalo with 22 points on 8-of-15 shooting including 4-of-7 from 3-point range plus 2-of-2 at the free throw line. He also notched seven rebounds and three assists. Dontay Caruthers tallied 20 points and three boards off the bench. C.J. Massinburg tallied 18 points, four rebounds and four steals. The Bulls shot 29-of-71 from the floor, 12-of-31 from 3-point range and 15-of-25 from the charity stripe.

Golden Eagles edged by Holy Cross

Canisius dropped to 3-7 on the season Thursday with a 65-63 defeat at Holy Cross. Isaiah Reese paced the Golden Griffins with 16 points, four rebounds and three assists. He shot 6-of-10 from the floor including 4-of-7 from 3-point distance. Takal Molson tallied 14 points, eight rebounds and two assists. Scott Hitchon added 11 points and eight rebounds. Canisius shot 23-of-56 from the floor 7-of-23 from 3-point range and 10-of-13 at the free throw line.

College Basketball Betting Trends

The Bulls are 7-2-1 ATS in their last nine games overall. The under is 9-4 in the last 13 Bulls games on Saturdays.

The Golden Griffins are 4-0-1 ATS in their last five games against the Mid-American Conference. Canisius is 0-5 ATS in its last five home games.

Buffalo is a big favorite today and I could see a bit of a letdown after having a pair of highly anticipated games against major conference opponents Syracuse and Marquette. The Bulls could win by double figures today and still not cover the spread, so I think a bet on Canisius isn't the worst idea. The Golden Griffins were competitive on the road at Holy Cross and perhaps they will build on that tonight.
