Indiana State looks for another upset

Indiana State has managed to upset Colorado and UNLV in the first two games of this tournament, winning by five points in each despite being an underdog. The Sycamores last loss was actually 90-70 at TCU on Dec. 16. Indiana State is now 8-3 on the season, 2-0 on a neutral floor, 6-3 against the spread and 5-4 with the over.

The Sycamores have been middle of the road on both offense and defense this season, but they are the top-shooting 3-point team in the nation, hitting 45.5 percent of their attempts. As a team, Indiana State averages 74.3 points per game while allowing 71.1 per contest. Jordan Barnes is leading the way with 21.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. Tyreke Key is adding 17.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per contest.

Frogs on a hot streak

The TCU basketball team has won seven straight games coming into tonight, including wins over Charlotte and Bucknell in this tournament, by double figures in each. TCU has covered the spread in seven straight as well. The Horned Frogs are now 10-1 on the season, 3-0 on a neutral floor, 7-4 against the spread and 6-5 with the under.

TCU is averaging 79.9 points per game this season while shooting just under 50 percent from the field. Defensively, the Horned Frogs are holding opponents to 64.4 points while opponents shoot just 38.7 percent from the field and 27.8 percent from the arc. Desmond Bane is leading the team with 14.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest while Alex Robinson adds 12.9 points and 9.0 assists per contest.

College Basketball Betting Trends

Indiana State

Indiana State is 3-10 against the spread in their last 13 Tuesday games and 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight on a neutral floor.

TCU

TCU has covered the spread in four of its last five against MVC opponents and in 19 of its last 26 on a neutral site.

Prediction:

In the meeting a few days ago, TCU got off to a fast start and never looked back. The Horned Frogs shot 48.5 percent from the floor and 40 percent from the arc while forcing the Sycamores into 20 turnovers. Indiana State also shot just 18.8 percent from the arc, far from their season average. While Indiana State is likely to shoot better today, I don’t think it will be enough to make up the point difference.
