Billikens take down NC Central

Saint Louis used a big second half Wednesday night to down visiting North Carolina Central by a score of 74-65 and improve to 9-3 on the season. Javon Bess paced the Billikens with 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting including 4-of-7 on 3-point attempts. He pulled down six rebounds and dished out six assists. Jordan Goodwin contributed 16 points, six steals, five assists and three rebounds. Carte'Are Gordon notched 10 points, six boards and two blocked shots. Tramaine Isabell Jr. added 10 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals. Saint Louis shot 30-of-61 from the floor in the contest.

FSU eases past North Florida

A career-high 24 points from Mfiondu Kabengele off the bench on 7-of-12 shooting and 12-of-12 at the free throw line helped lead Florida State to a 95-81 home win over North Florida Thursday ngiht. Terance Mann contributed 17 points and two assists. PJ Savoy had 11 points, three boards and three steals. Christ Koumadje tallied 10 points, five caroms and three blocked shots. Trent Forrest recorded 10 points plus seven assists, four rebounds and four steals. Florida State led 46-39 at halftime and held on from there. The Seminoles shot 40-of-79 from the floor, but only went 3-of-23 from 3-point range.

The Billikens have lost three games this season by a combined 11 points, two on the road and another in a neutral setting. Saint Louis is 14th nationally in adjusted defensive efficiency and I think it will be able to keep this one close due to that strong defense. Florida State didn't look all that impressive against North Florida and won't have the luxury to play that way against a better opponent.
