Golden Grizzlies struggle at Georgia
Oakland trailed by a count of 45-34 at halftime Tuesday night at the Bulldogs and were unable to amount enough of a rally in what ended as an 81-69 defeat. Xavier Hill-Mais led the Golden Grizzlies (4-8) with 21 points on 6-of-17 shooting 8-of-13 at the free throw line. He also pulled down nine rebounds and dished out three assists. Jaevin Cumberland contributed 14 points, two assists and two steals. Braden Norris tallied 13 points, five boards and two assists. Tray Maddox Jr. added 12 points in 28 minutes of action. Oakland shot only 21-of-58 from the floor and were 10-of-27 from 3-point range plus 17-of-24 at the charity stripe.
Spartans run past Green Bay
Michigan State improved to 9-2 on the season Sunday night at home with a 104-83 victory over the Phoenix. Nick Ward paced the Spartans with a monster game as he registered 28 points on 12-of-13 shooting plus nine rebounds and four blocked shots. Cassius Winston contributed 16 points, 12 assists and six boards. Joshua Langford had 13 points, seven rebounds and four dimes. Matt McQuaid tallied 12 points in 23 minutes. College Basketball Betting Trends
The Golden Grizzlies are 9-21 ATS in their last 30 games overall. Oakland is 3-7-1 ATS in its last 11 games overall.
The Spartans are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games overall. The home team is 6-0 ATS in the last six meetings.
The Golden Grizzlies tend to get up for this game as they mark it as their biggest on the non-conference schedule. The 2016 matchup went to overtime, while the Spartans won the last two years by a combined 25 points. This year's Oakland squad isn't nearly as good, but something tells me they won't lay down in this spot. Go with the underdogs.
