Tar Heels stunned by Terriers

North Carolina fell 68-64 Sunday at home versus Wofford for its third straight loss to drop to 6-4 overall and 3-2 at home. The Tar Heels were outscored 36-28 in the second half of the defeat. Garrison Brooks paced North Carolina with 17 points on 8-of-10 shooting plus 1-of-3 at the free throw line. He also ripped down 12 rebounds. Brandon Robinson added 16 points, six boards, five assists and two blocked shots.

Zags win third straight

Gonzaga earned an 84-80 victory Saturday night at Arizona to move to 11-1 overall and 3-0 on the road. Corey Kispert led the Bulldogs with 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting including 2-of-7 from 3-point distance plus 2-of-2 at the charity stripe. He also grabbed eight rebounds. Filip Petrusev accounted for 16 points, seven boards and four blocked shots. Joel Ayayi registered 15 points, seven assists and six caroms. Admon Gilder added 13 points, seven reobunds and three assists off the bench. Gonzaga outscored the Wildcats 49-46 in the second half of the win to secure the triumph.

Prediction:

With freshman star Cole Anthony on the shelf, it's difficult to see UNC surviving but on the bright side the schedule does get considerably more manageable over the next month after this Gonzaga showdown. I don't expect the Tar Heels to win or anything, but this is still a lot of points and it isn't like it's a roster devoid of talent. I think UNC is getting more accustomed to playing without Anthony and I'm betting on the visitors to keep it closer than expected tonight.
