Bears edge Bulldogs

Baylor secured a 53-52 victory at home Tuesday night over Butler as it blocked the visitors' potential go-ahead bucket with under two seconds remaining. The Bears were outscored 28-19 in the second half but managed to hang on for the win. MaCio Teague paced Baylor with 10 points on 3-of-12 shooting including 1-of-8 from 3-point distance plus 3-of-4 at the free throw line. He also contributed four rebounds and two assists. Devonte Bandoo added 10 points and five boards off the bench.

Skyhawks drop second straight

UT-Martin lost 91-72 Saturday at UNC-Ashville to fall to 3-6 overall and 1-4 on the road. The Skyhawks trailed 48-37 at halftime and were unable to bounce back after the break. Parker Stewart paced UT-Martin with 21 points off the bench on 8-of-16 shooting plus 5-of-8 from the charity stripe. He also registered eight rebounds and five assists. Chase Randall II accounted for 20 points, seven boards and three dimes. Derek Hawthorne Jr. added 10 points, two caroms and two assists.

College Basketball Betting Trends

The Bears are 5-1 ATS in their last six neutral site games. Baylor is 2-5 ATS in its last seven neutral site games.

The Skyhawks are 13-6 ATS in their last 19 Wednesday games. UT-Martin is 2-5 ATS in its last seven games as an underdog.

The Bears have played a very tough schedule lately with three opponents in the top 20 of the rankings, with Baylor winning all three of those contests straight up. It helped that two of the games were at home, while the other was in a neutral setting, but the fact is this is a very strong Baylor team. Today's game might be classified as neutral, but it is essentially a home game for the Bears as they remain in their home state. UT-Martin isn't much to write home about and haven't beaten a team inside the top 200. I don't see the Skyhawks sticking with Baylor here.
