Omaha vs. Kansas Pick
Will No. 13 Kansas get back to rolling past opponents when it plays host to Omaha tonight at 7PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Kansas is favored at home tonight, as the Jayhawks are getting odds of -30 points against Omaha. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 154.5 points. Tonight’s game takes place from Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kansas and will air live on ESPN2.
Kansas snapped a two-game losing streak with a 73-72 win at Nebraska this past weekend. The Jayhawks are now 8-2 on the season while going 5-4 against the spread. Kansas has failed to cover in its last three games. Kansas is scoring 86.6 points per game on offense this season while allowing just 67 points per game. Lagerald Vick is leading the team with 17.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game while Deonvte’ Graham is adding 17 points and 7.7 assists per contest.
Omaha is coming off a 99-58 win over Cornell for its season straight win. The Mavericks are now 3-10 on the season and 6-6 against the spread, failing to cover in their last two games. Omaha is putting up 75.9 points per game while allowing 87.5 per contest. Zach Jackson is averaging 17.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game to lead Omaha while Mitchell Hahn was posting 12.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game before a shoulder injury sidelined him indefinitely.
These two have no recent meetings to consider tonight. Kansas is in a bit of a funk and could use a lesser opponent like Omaha to get back on track. Despite the Mavericks being outmatched, they actually have a good balance of scoring in their lineup. Kansas won’t be able to focus is on one player defensively to completely shutdown Omaha tonight. I don’t think all of Kansas’ issues will completely disappear in this game either. It’s a lot to ask to cover 30 points. I think it’s just too many. The public betting is siding with Kansas, but I will take Omaha with the points.
