Ospreys get past Golden Eagles
North Florida earned a 72-69 road win Saturday at Southern Miss to improve to 7-5 overall and 1-4 on the road. The Ospreys led 32-29 at halftime and managed to hold on after the break. Garrett Sams helped pace North Florida with 14 points on 4-of-11 shooting including 4-of-10 from 3-point range plus 2-of-2 at the free throw line. He also registered six rebounds and two steals. J.T. Escobar tallied 14 points, four assists and three boards. Wajid Aminu racked up 13 points, eight caroms and two assists. Carter Hendricksen recorded 13 points, 10 rebounds and three dimes. Ivan Gandia-Rosa added 13 points, six assists and three boards.
Seminoles blast Tigers
Florida State cruised to a 72-53 home win Sunday over Clemson to move to 8-2 overall and 1-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Seminoles outscored the Tigers 45-20 in the second half after trailing by six at the break. Devin Vassell paced FSU with 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting including 2-of-6 from 3-point distance. He also contributed nine rebounds, three blocked shots and two assists. Anthony Polite tallied 12 points, three boards and two dimes off the bench. M.J. Walker added 11 points and two assists.
College Basketball Betting Trends
The under is 9-1 in the last 10 Ospreys games as a road underdog. The under is 4-1 in the last five North Florida Tuesday games.
The over is 6-2 in the last eight Seminoles home games. The over is 20-8 in the last 28 FSU Tuesday games.
This total seems a bit high. The Ospreys play at a fast pace, but I think they'll struggle against a top-notch Florida State defense that has allowed over 65 points only once this season. The Seminoles are middle of the pack in terms of pace, but might slow it a little more than normal to offset North Florida's tempo preference. Look for this one to stay under as FSU frustrates North Florida into submission.
