Buckeyes dominate Nittany Lions

Ohio State cruised to a 106-74 home win over Penn State eight days ago to improve to 9-0 overall and 1-0 in Big Ten Conference action. The Buckeyes outscored the Nittany Lions 90-39 in the second half to pull away. Kaleb Wesson paced OSU with 28 points on 9-of-16 shooting including 4-of-6 from 3-point range plus 6-of-6 at the free throw line. He also racked up 10 rebounds and two assists. Andre Wesson recorded 15 points and five boards off the bench. Luther Muhammad tallied 14 points, three dimes and two caroms. Duane Washington Jr. added 14 points and two rebounds.

Golden Gophers fall flat at Hawkeyes

Minnesota lost 72-52 Monday night at Iowa to drop to 4-5 overall and 0-1 in the Big Ten. The Golden Gophers tariled 37-29 at halftime and continued to falter after the break. Daniel Oturu paced Minnesota with 22 points on 10-of-12 shooting including 1-of-1 from 3-point distance plus 1-of-1 at the charity stripe. He also registered 12 rebounds and five blocked shots. Alihan Demir added 13 points, five boards, two assists and two blocks.

College Basketball Betting Trends

Ohio State

The Buckeyes are 7-0 ATS in their last seven games overall. Ohio State is 6-2 ATS in its last eight games as a road favorite.

The Golden Gophers are 6-2 ATS in their last eight home games. The home team is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings.

The Buckeyes are arguably the best team in the nation right now as their elite offense is bolstered by an even better defense. Ohio State has benefited from a home heavy schedule, but also pounded North Carolina in its one road game. With how Minnesota looked at Iowa, I don't like its chances to hang with the Buckeyes today. Being at home certainly helps, but I don't see the Golden Gophers being able to solve the dominant Ohio State defense frequently enough to make this interesting.
