WMU rolls past Youngstown State

The Broncos used a big first-half to secure an 88-77 win at Youngstown State last Saturday. Western Michigan (5-4) led 49-38 at halftime en route to the victory. Michael Flowers paced WMU with 25 points on 9-of-14 shooting to go with four rebounds and three assists. Josh Davis contributed 17 points to go with 10 rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots. Jared Printy added 14 points, two rebounds and two assists. The Broncos shot 30-of-58 from the floor and 13-of-31 from 3-point range in the win.

Wolverines win 10th straight

Michigan improved to 10-0 on the season last Saturday with an 89-78 home win over South Carolina. The Wolverines led 42-36 at halftime and padded the lead after the break. Jordan Poole led U-M with 26 points on 8-of-12 shooting plus five boards and four assists. Ignas Brazdeikis tallied 17 points and six rebounds. Jon Teske had 15 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots. Charles Matthews registered 12 points and six boards. Isaiah Livers added 12 points and three rebounds off the bench. Michigan shot 28-of-54 from the floor including 10-of-24 from 3-point range.

College Basketball Betting Trends

Western Michigan

The Broncos are 1-5 ATS in their last six Saturday games. Western Michigan is 0-7 ATS in its last seven games versus Big Ten Conference opponents.

Michigan

The Wolverines are 11-5-2 ATS in their last 19 Saturday games. Michigan is 10-4 ATS in its last 14 games following an ATS loss.

Prediction:

The Wolverines haven't covered the spread in their last two games and they might take a little bit easy here against an in-state rival too. If they jump out to a big lead, starters could be rested in preparation for bigger games. And it can also be used as an opportunity for seldom-used players to get some experience on the floor. Whether it's a backdoor cover or WMU staying within the number from the start, I see Michigan taking its foot off the pedal some in this contest.
