Billikens blast Green Wave

Saint Louis rolled to an 86-62 victory Sunday over Tulane in the Air Force Reserve Jerry Colangelo Classic. The Billikens (8-1 ) led 44-28 at halftime en route to the decisive win. Gibson Jimerson led Saint Louis with 22 points off the bench on 8-of-15 shooting including 6-of-12 from 3-point distance. He also brought down two rebounds. Hasahn French contributed 18 points, 11 boards and five assists. Demarius Jacobs accounted for 18 points, four caroms and two assists. Jordan Goodwin added 12 points, 16 caroms, five assists and two steals. 

Tigers down Paladins in OT

Auburn held off upset-minded Furman Thursday night at home with an 81-78 win in overtime. The Tigers (8-0) outscored the Paladins 35-27 in the second half and 15-12 in the extra session to secure the triumph. Isaac Okoro led Auburn with 18 points on 5-of-9 shooting plus 8-of-9 from the charity stripe. He also tallied nine rebounds and three assists. Austin Wiley accounted for 13 points, 12 boards, two assists, two steals and two blocked shots. Samir Doughty added 13 points in 41 minutes of action.

Prediction:

The Billikens are barely outside the top 100 currently and could climb in with a strong performance here. While this is almost a home game for Auburn, it's still not in its home gym and the comfort level will be slightly less. Auburn has not played the toughest of schedules yet and nearly lost to Furman. With the points given to Saint Louis here and the fact the Billikens are very capable of getting it done defensively, I like the underdogs in this spot.
