Colonels drop fourth straight

Eastern Kentucky lost a 76-57 decision Sunday night at Northern Kentucky to drop to 3-6 overall and 0-3 on the road. The Colonels were outscored 41-22 in the second half of the defeat after the score was deadlocked at the break. Ty Taylor II was the lone Eastern Kentucky player in double figures for scoring as he ended the contest with 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting including 4-of-8 from 3-point distance over 32 minutes of action. Tre King added seven points and three rebounds.

Cardinals suffer first defeat

Louisville lost 70-57 Tuesday night against Texas Tech in the Jimmy V Classic in New York City. The Cardinals (9-1) were outscored 39-29 in the second half of the loss. Jordan Nwora paced Louisville with 14 points on 4-of-16 shooting including 1-of-7 from 3-point distance plus 5-of-7 from the charity stripe. He also registered nine rebounds, three assists and two steals. Steven Enoch added 10 points and six boards.

Louisville can make life miserable for offenses and will be particularly grouchy after a loss last game. I expect the Cardinals to rebound with a vengeance and win by enough to cover the gigantic number.
