Bulldogs win fourth straight

Drake secured a 78-73 home win last Saturday night over Southeast Missouri State to improve to 8-2 overall and 6-0 at home. The Bulldogs outscored the Redhawks 41-30 in the second half to overcome a deficit. Roman Penn led Drake with 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting including 1-of-2 from 3-point range plus 3-of-5 at the free throw line. He also racked up eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.  D.J. Wilkins tallied 15 points in 30 minutes of action. Anthony Murphy accounted for 14 points in 29 minutes of action. Liam Robbins registered 11 points, seven boards, three blocked shots and two assists. Noah Thomas added 11 points, four steals, two caroms and two assists.

Flyers take down Gaels

Dayton won the championship game of the Jerry Colangelo Classic Sunday night by a score of 78-68 over St. Mary's. The Flyers (7-1) led 46-25 at halftime and held on after the break. Jalen Crutcher led Dayton with 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting including 5-of-8 from 3-point distance plus 2-of-2 at the charity stripe. He also accounted for six assists and four boards. Obi Toppin tallied 16 points and six boards. Trey Landers contributed 15 points, eight caroms and two assists. Ibi Watson added 11 points and two steals.

College Basketabll Betting Trends

The Bulldogs are 19-6-1 ATS in their last 26 Saturday games. Drake is 11-5-1 ATS in its last 17 road games.

The Flyers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall. Dayton is 5-1 ATS in its last six games following a straight up win.

The Flyers are very good and would be undefeated if they could have found a way to get past powerful Kansas in overtime. Dayton has an elite offense and three top 100 wins, while the only team in the top 100 the Bulldogs have faced was a 22-point loss at a Cincinnati squad that is not nearly as good as the Flyers. I'm taking Dayton in a rout here.
