Vols cruise by TACC
Tennessee had no issues dismissing visiting Texas A&M Corpus-Christi last Sunday as it rolled to a 79-51 win. The Volunteers (6-1) led 34-19 at halftime and continued to dominate after the break. Tennessee shot 26-of-49 from the floor in the win and 20-of-25 at the free throw line. Admiral Schofield led the Vols with 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting to go with four steals, three rebounds and two assists. Grant Williams tallied 14 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots. Jordan Bowden had 14 points, four boards and two steals off the bench. Kyle Alexander added 12 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks.
Hachimura sends Zags to win
Rui Hachimura kept Gonzaga undefeated Wednesday night as his short jumper with under a second left lifted his squad to an 81-79 victory over in-state rival Washington. Hachimura paced the Bulldogs with 26 points on 9-of-20 shooting plus 8-of-8 at the charity stripe. He also had seven rebounds and two assists. Zach Norvell Jr. contributed 14 points, seven assists, six rebounds and two steals. Corey Kispert tallied 13 points, three caroms and three dimes. Brandon Clarke added 10 points, 11 rebounds and two steals. Gonzaga (9-0) shot 27-of-63 from the floor and a perfect 19-of-19 at the free throw line.
College Basketball Betting Trends
The Volunteers are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games following an ATS loss. Tennessee is 1-3-1 ATS in its last five games versus the West Coast Conference.
The Bulldogs are 4-0 ATS in their last four games following an ATS loss. Gonzaga is 4-1 ATS in its last five games overall.
The Bulldogs barely snuck by Washington at home and now faces a Tennessee squad with a week off to prepare for this contest. The only Vols loss came in overtime against Kansas, while they are ranked in the top 15 nationally in both offensive and defensive adjusted efficiency. Gonzaga has an elite offense, but is often shaky on the defensive end. I'm going with Tennessee today in the neutral setting.
