According to oddsmakers at BetNow.eu, Duke is the heavy favorite in this game, as the Blue Devils are getting odds of -24 points against Yale. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our College Basketball Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.
Yale on win streak
Yale comes into this game on a three-game win streak following a 97-87 win over Lehigh. The Bulldogs have covered the spread in all three games. Yale is 4-2 on the season, 4-2 against the spread and 4-2 with the over.
The Bulldogs are quite the impressive offense, averaging 87.5 points per game while shooting 51.4 percent from the field and 40.4 percent from the arc. However, Yale is rough on defense, allowing 78.0 points per game. Miye Oni is leading the way with 18.8 points and 5.7 rebounds per game while Jordan Bruner is putting up 13.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest.
Duke wins three straight
Duke has also won three straight since a loss to Gonzaga. The Blue Devils had an 84-54 win over Hartford on Tuesday, but failed to cover a 38-point spread. Duke is now 8-1 on the season, 5-4 against the spread and 6-2-1 with the under.
The Blue Devils are a strong offensive team as well, putting up 93.1 points per game while shooting 50.1 percent from the arc. They also rank fourth in the nation in rebounding at 45.9 per game. Defensively, Duke is allowing just 66.6 points per game while holding opponents to 37.6 percent shooting. RJ Barrett is leading Duke with 23.6 points and 7.2 rebounds per game while Zion Williamson is adding 20.4 points and 9.1 rebounds per contest.
College Basketball Betting Trends
Yale
Yale has covered the spread in eight of its last 11 games overall and in eight of its last 11 following a win.
Duke
The Blue Devils have covered the spread in four straight Saturday games and in six straight against Ivy League opponents.
Prediction:
While Yale has a strong offense, it’s not going to be a good outcome for the Bulldogs to get into a shootout with Duke. The Blue Devils can win with points and also can lock down on defense. Duke has a lot more length and athleticism than Yale and should be able to challenge a lot of the Bulldogs’ shots. While the spread is a little concerning, I expect Duke to pull away in the second half.
College Basketball Prediction: Duke -24
