Will Oklahoma be able to pull off an upset when it takes on No. 25 USC in the Basketball Hall of Fame Classic tonight at 10:30PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, USC is the slight favorite in this game, as the Trojans are getting odds of -1.5 points against Oklahoma. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 165 points. Tonight’s game takes place from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California and will air live on ESPN2.

Oklahoma is coming off a 97-85 win over UTSA on Monday to improve to 6-1 on the season. The Sooners are just 2-5 against the spread, failing to cover in four of their last five outings. Oklahoma is scoring 94.4 points per game on offense while giving up 79.7 per contest on defense. Trae Young is playing as well as almost anyone in the country, averaging 28.7 points and 8.7 assists per game. Khadeem Lattin is adding 11.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per game.

USC is coming off a 72-55 loss at SMU this past weekend to fall to 4-2 on the season. The Trojans are now 3-3 against the spread as well, failing to cover in their last two losses. USC is averaging 75.7 points per game this season while giving up 67.7 per contest. Chimezie Metu is leading the team with 16 points and 7.7 rebounds per game while Bennie Boatwright is adding 15.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per contest.

These two have split their last two meetings with USC covering the spread in both games. Oklahoma has covered the spread in five of its last six against Pac-12 teams. The Sooners have the best player on the floor most nights and that will be the case against tonight. USC has some talent, but the Trojans are in a bit of a funk right now. I don’t know if Oklahoma is on USC’s level right now, but we will find out tonight With the Sooners having Young, I am going to take my chances on them. The public betting is slightly with USC, but I think Young can carry the Sooners to a win.
