Nittany Lions blast Demon Deacons

Penn State rolled to a 76-54 home win Wednesday night over Wake Forest to improve to 7-1 overall and 5-0 at home. The Nittany Lions led 41-23 at halftime en route to the victory. Myreon Jones paced Penn State with 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting including 3-of-7 from 3-point range plus 3-of-3 at the free throw line. He also recorded two steals. Lamar Stevens tallied 14 points, seven rebounds, four steals and three assists. Izaiah Brockington added 13 points and five boards off the bench.

Buckeyes roll past Tar Heels

Ohio State picked up a 74-49 victory at seventh-ranked North Carolina Wednesday night to move to 8-0 on the season and 1-0 on the road. Duane Washington Jr. led the Buckeyes with 18 points on 6-of-15 shooting including 4-of-8 from 3-point distance plus 2-of-3 from the free throw line. He also accounted for five rebounds and two assists. E.J. Liddell contributed 12 points, five boards and two blocked shots off the bench. Kaleb Wesson had 10 points, nine caroms and two assists. C.J. College Basketball Betting Trends

Penn State

The Nittany Lions are 15-5-2 ATS in their last 22 games overall. Penn State is 18-7-3 ATS in its last 28 road games.

Ohio State

The Buckeyes are 6-0 ATS in their last six games overall. Ohio State is 2-5 ATS in its last seven Saturday games.

Prediction:

While the Nittany Lions are continually improving and are a serious NCAA Tournament candidate this season, the early start time at an experienced and very good Ohio State team seems like a bit much to handle here. Penn State has handled  a decent enough schedule so far, but OSU is by far the toughest test yet and I don't know if it is up to the task yet. The Buckeyes are second in the nation in adjusted defensive efficiency and should find enough buckets on the offensive end to pull away against a quality defensive team in PSU.
