Pittsburgh improve to 7-2 overall and 4-2 at home Tuesday night with a 71-60 victory over visiting Rutgers. The Panthers led 35-27 at halftime and continued to pad the lead after the break. Xavier Johnson paced Pitt with 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting including 2-of-5 from 3-point range plus 2-of-3 at the free throw line. He also tallied eight assists, three boards and two steals. Trey McGowens tallied 16 points, four steals, three boards and two assists. Ryan Murphy accounted for 15 points, five caroms and four assists. Louisville secured a 58-43 home win over Michigan Tuesday night in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge to improve to 8-0 overall and 6-0 at home. The Cardinals led 28-18 at halftime and continued to pull away after the break. Jordan Nwora led Louisville with 22 points on 9-of-23 shooting including 1-of-5 from 3-point distance plus 3-of-5 at the free throw line. He also tallied five rebounds and two blocked shots. College Basketball Betting Trends
Pittsburgh
The Panthers are 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall. Pittsburgh is 4-1 ATS in its last five Friday games.
Louisville
The Cardinals are 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games. The favorite is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings.
Prediction:
Louisville is ranked third nationally in adjusted offensive efficiency and fourth in defensive adjusted efficiency, with four wins over top 100 teams including a convincing victory against Michigan this week. With a veteran lineup, this squad can be taken seriously as a national title contender. While there is nothing inherently wrong with Pitt, it also struggles often on the offensive end and lost at home earlier to Nichols State. I don't see the Panthers keeping up with an elite squad on the road here.
