Bucs slip past Eagles

East Tennessee State earned a 61-58 home win Thursday night over Winthrop to improve to 3-0 on the season. The Buccaneers led 32-25 at halftime en route to the victory. Bo Hodges paced ETSU with 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting including 1-of-1 from 3-point range plus 4-of-5 at the free throw line. He also notched nine rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots. Tray Boyd III added 13 points in 19 minutes of action off the bench.

Jayhawks fly past Hawks

Kansas raced to a 112-57 home win Friday night over Monmouth to move to 2-1 on the season. The Jayhawks led 59-21 at halftime on their way to the easy win. Isaiah Moss paced Kansas with 21 points off the bench on 5-of-6 shooting overall, all from 3-point range, plus 6-of-6 at the free throw line. He also dished out two assists. Devon Dotson accounted for 17 points, four assists, four steals and two rebounds. David McCormack tallied 17 points, 11 boards and four assists as a reserve. Udoka Azubuike contributed 12 points, eight caroms and three blocked shots.  Slivio de Sousa accounted for 11 points and six rebounds. East Tennessee State

The Buccaneers are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 Tuesday games. East Tennessee State is 20-9-2 ATS in its last 31 road games.

The Jayhawks are 1-5 ATS in their last six games versus the Southern Conference. Kansas is 0-4 ATS in its last four Tuesday games.

The Buccaneers are certainly no pushovers after winning 24 games a season ago and their first three this season. They are a solid offensive group that plays at a slower pace but is efficient with their possessions. The Jayhawks will probably eventually figure them out, but I'm betting on it being too late to cover the two-touchdown spread here.
