Huskies get past Mt. St. Mary's

Washington secured a 56-46 victory Tuesday night at home over Mt. St. Mary's to improve to 2-0 on the season. The Huskies outscored the Mountaineers 35-25 in the second half in the win. Isaiah Stewart led Washington with 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting plus 2-of-4 at the free throw line. He also contributed five rebounds and five blocked shots. Nahziah Carter added 14 points, three boards and three assists.

Vols ease past Racers

Tennessee earned an 82-63 home win Tuesday night over Murray State to improve to 2-0 on the season. The Volunteers trailed by nine at halftime before outscored MSU 47-19 in the second half. Jordan Bowden led Tennessee with 26 points on 8-of-15 shooting including 6-of-8 from 3-point distance plus 4-of-5 at the charity stripe. He also grabbed two rebounds. Yves Pons added 19 points, four boards and four blocked shots.

Prediction:

The Volunteers might be the team here that is not ranked, but I think they are the better squad. Washington benefited last season from a soft PAC-12 schedule and I don't trust it offensively to keep up with a talented Vols squad that will look to build off their awesome second half last game. I'm taking Tennessee in this spot.
