FAU came back in the second half to beat 4-seed Tennessee 62-55 in Thursday's Sweet 16 matchup and now will face 3-seed Kansas State in Saturday's Elite Eight. The 9-seed Owls, wearing Cinderella's slipper? Not quite.

"We're where we're supposed to be," guard Nicholas Boyd said. "We're going to keep moving, keep working. Can't count us out no more. We're here to stay and we're going to keep fighting no matter who we line up against, who we play.

Markquis Nowell finished Thursday's 98-93 OT victory over Michigan State with 20 points (7-18 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, 19 assists and five steals in 43 minutes. Nowell logged yet another star performance during his homecoming to New York City on Thursday, as he set a new NCAA Tournament record for assists in a game. The fifth-year senior appeared to suffer a bad injury when he rolled hard on his right ankle early in the second half. However, after a short evaluation on the Wildcats' bench, he returned to play out the remainder of regulation and the entire overtime session. This included Nowell delivering a sensational alley-oop pass to his running mate Keyontae Johnson in overtime, marking his record-tying 18th assist. Nowell would go on to seal the game with a clutch steal as Michigan State attempted to get off a game-tying three-pointer in the waning seconds. The 5-foot-8 point guard has been one of the biggest stories of the NCAA Tournament so far, averaging 21.3 points, 14.0 assists and 3.7 steals while shooting 47.7 percent from the field during Kansas State's run to the Elite 8. He'll look to follow up this outstanding three-game stretch when Kansas State faces either Florida Atlantic at Madison Square Garden on Saturday.
