Magee sets NCAA record

Wofford senior guard Fletcher Magee set a record for career made 3-pointers in Thursday's 84-68 victory over Seton Hall in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. He hit seven 3-pointers in the win, giving him an NCAA-best 509 for his career. The Terriers (30-4) led 40-30 at halftime and went on a late run after the Pirates had battled back. Wofford shot 26-of-54 from the field, 13-of-28 from 3-point range plus 19-of-23 at the free throw line. Magee led the way with 24 points on 7-of-14 shooting including 7-of-12 from 3-point distance plus 3-of-3 at the free throw line in 34 minutes of action. Nathan Hoover contributed 18 points and four rebounds. Cameron Jackson tallied 14 points, 10 boards and five assists. Storm Murphy added 11 points, five caroms and three dimes.

Washington out Saturday

Kentucky sophomore forward P.J. Washington (14.8 ppg, 7.5 rpg) will miss his second straight NCAA Tournament game today with a sprained foot. He missed Thursday's 79-44 romp over Abilene Christian as his presence was clearly unneeded. The Wildcats (28-6) led 39-13 at halftime during the rout. Kentucky shot 30-of-56 from the field, 4-of-14 from 3-point distance plus 15-of-19 at the free throw line. Keldon Johnson led the way with 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting including 3-of-5 from 3-point distance plus 2-of-3 at the charity stripe. He also brought down six rebounds. Reid Travis tallied 18 points and nine boards. Tyler Herro added 14 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals.

College Basketball Betting Trends

Wofford

The Terriers are 6-0 ATS in their last six Saturday games. Wofford is 6-0 ATS in its last six neutral site games.

Kentucky

The Wildcats are 5-0 ATS in their last five non-conference games. Kentucky is 4-1-2 ATS in its last seven NCAA Tournament games.

Prediction:

Kentucky will miss Washington a lot more than it did in the first round of the tournament and although the Wildcats have plenty of other capable playmakers, there is only one leading scorer on a team and that happens to be Washington. Wofford plays with a ton of confidence, spreads the court as well as anyone due to Magee's deadly shooting and dominated down the stretch in its last game. This could be a straight up upset, but I'll play it cautious and take the points. Go with Wofford here.
