Is Duke a good bet to cover versus South Carolina at 8:40PM ET tonight when the teams clash in the second round of the NCAA tournament?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Blue Devils are 7-point favorites versus the Gamecocks while the over/under is now up to 142.5 and after opening at 142.

South Carolina has lost six of its last 10 games entering play tonight and is also just 2-8 against the spread during that stretch. But the Gamecocks advanced to the second round of the tournament with a convincing 93-73 victory over Marquette as only a 1-point favorite. South Carolina is mostly known for playing sound defense, so the fact that the Gamecocks dropped 93 points on the Golden Eagles was impressive.

Duke entered the tournament as one of the hottest teams in basketball and had zero problems dispatching Troy in the opening round. The Blue Devils not only blew out the Trojans 87-65, they covered as a massive 19.5-point favorite. They have now won five in a row, all of which also resulted in wins at the betting window as well.

On the other side, the Gamecocks are just 2-9 at the betting window in their last 11 games overall, are 5-11 against the spread in their last 16 games versus opponents from the ACC, and are winless at 0-5 against the number in their last five games coming off a win.
