Gonzaga is the top seed in the region this year. The Bulldogs were 30-3 during the regular season, winning the West Coast Conference with a 16-0 league record. The Wolverines had three of their six losses come against Michigan State, another 2 seed in the tournament. Michigan has reached the Final Four eight times in history (two of which were vacated). The Wolverines were the runner-up in last year’s tournament.
Texas Tech is the third seed in the West. The Red Raiders bring a 26-6 record into the tournament with a 14-4 mark in the Big 12, which earned them a share of the league title. Tech is coming off a loss to West Virginia in its Big 12 Tournament opener. Tech has never reached the Final Four in program history.
The Seminoles are the fourth seed in the region. FSU is 27-7 on the season while going 13-5 in ACC play.
