Nevada vs. Cincinnati Pick
Will No. 2 Cincinnati have any trouble with No. 7 Nevada when the two meet up in the second round of the NCAA Tournament later today?
Sunday, March 18, 2018
Location: Bridgestone Arena, Nashville, Tennessee
TV: CBS, 6:10PM ET
The spread opened up with Cincinnati as a 7-point favorite. The spread fell to 6.5 points briefly before making the climb up to 8.5 points. The over/under total has held steady at its opening mark of 137.5 points.
PUBLIC BETTING INFORMATION
The public is slightly behind Nevada tonight. As of Sunday morning, the Wolf Pack are getting 51 percent of the wagers on this game as the underdog against the Bearcats.
Cincinnati has nobody listed on the injury report. Nevada has Lindsey Drew listed as out. The guard has been out for the season since suffering an Achilles injury in February. Drew averaged 8.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game when he was playing.
Nevada opened its NCAA Tournament with an 87-83 OT win over the Texas Longhorns on Friday. The Wolf Pack were actually a slight underdog in the game. Cincinnati defeated Georgia State, 68-53, in its first tournament game. The Bearcats narrowly covered a 14-point spread.
The Bearcats have won eight straight coming into today, but are just 4-6 against the spread in their last 10. Their defense has been great, holding five of their last six opponents under 60 points. However, the Cincy offense has been held to 70 or less in five straight.
Nevada is a team that can score. The Wolf Pack are averaging 83.2 points per contest overall and 83 per game away from home. While its defense isn’t great, I am not sure Cincinnati can put up the points anyway. Nevada can get hot, which can make it tough for Cincinnati to cover today.
