Michigan wins 10th straight Big Ten Tournament game
The Wolverines continued their dominance in this event, as they have won 10 straight with a 76-49 win over Minnesota. They have won their two games this week by over 30 points. The 3rd-seeded Wolverines have won and covered in four of their last five games. Michigan is now 28-5 on the season, 17-5 in Big Ten games, 4-0 on a neutral floor, 19-14 against the spread and 19-13 with the under.
Michigan ranks second nationally in defense, allowing just 58.4 points per game. The Wolverines are holding opponents to 39.9 percent shooting. Offensively, Michigan puts up 70.7 points per game while shooting 45.1 percent as a team. Ignas Brazdeikis is leading the team with 14.9 points and 5.2 rebounds per game while Jordan Poole is adding 12.8 points per contest.
MSU wins fourth straight
Michigan State defeated Wisconsin on Saturday in the semifinal, 67-55. The Spartans have won four straight while covering the spread in three of the four wins. MSU is the top seed and has won nine of its last 10 overall. The Spartans are now 27-6 on the season, 18-4 in Big Ten games, 4-1 on a neutral floor, 23-10 against the spread and 18-14-1 with the under.
MSU is putting up 79.2 points per game this season while shooting 48.8 percent from the field. Defensively, the Spartans are giving up just 65.7 points per game while holding opponents to 37.7 percent shooting. Cassius Winston is dealing with a toe injury, but leads the team by averaging 19.0 points and 7.5 assists per game. Nick Ward is adding 14.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game and he just returned from a hand injury this weekend.
College Basketball Betting Trends
Michigan
The Wolverines are 36-14-1 ATS in their last 51 Big Ten games and 13-3 ATS in their last 16 Sunday games.
Michigan State
The Spartans are 16-6 ATS in their last 22 Big Ten games, but just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 on a neutral site.
Prediction:
Michigan State won and covered the spread in both meetings with Michigan this season, which have come over the last three weeks. The Spartans have been the tougher team in both games, winning the rebounding battle, including a 42-18 edge in East Lansing last weekend. Despite that, MSU is beat up and Winston is not playing at 100 percent. His toe/foot injury is getting aggravated with each game and the Spartans would be smart not to play him much. With this being the last game before the NCAA Tournament field is announced, I am not sure how much seeding change this game will have. Michigan will come in with everything it has to not lose three times to MSU, while the Spartans need to avoid further injury.
College Basketball Prediction: Michigan -1
