Is SMU one of the better plays on the board today for bettors? The Mustangs will take on USC at 3:10PM ET.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Mustangs are 6.5-point favorites versus the Trojans while the over/under currently sits at 138, down from the opening number of 139.5.

The Trojans rallied from 15 points down at halftime to beat Providence 75-71 on Wednesday to reach the field of 64. They've now split over their last 10 games, both on the hardwood and at the betting window and are 25-9 on the season. They also own a winning record at the betting window at 17-16.

The Mustangs have won 16 straight games, including the AAC Tournament Championship Game. The team went 30-4 on the year, finished 8-2 against the spread over their last 10 games, and went 22-6 at the betting window this season. They're a covering machine.

OUR PREDICTION: The Mustangs are 24-5-1 against the spread in their last 30 games as a favorite, are 20-5-1 against the number in their last 26 games overall, and have covered in 14 of their last 17 games when playing a team with a winning percentage above .600. The Trojans are the opposite, failing to cover in nine of their last 12 games versus an opponent that owns a winning percentage above .600. They're also just 3-7 at the betting window in their last 10 games when an underdog of between 0.5 and 6.5 points.
