Gators edge LSU

Florida has picked up wins over Arkansas and LSU over the last couple days, including a 76-73 win over LSU yesterday. The Gators are the 8 seed and they have covered the spread in three straight. Florida is 19-14 on the season, 11-9 in SEC games, 5-2 on a neutral floor, 15-18 against the spread and 22-11 with the under.

The Gators have a very strong defense that is allowing just 63.6 points per game while holding opponents to 42.2 percent shooting. Offensively, Florida is putting up 68.5 points per game while shooting 42.3 percent as a team. KeVaughn Allen is leading the team with 12.1 points per game while Noah Locke is adding 9.6 points per contest.

Auburn rolling

Auburn is the 5 seed this week and the Tigers have won six straight, including wins over Missouri and South Carolina in this tournament. The Tigers have covered the spread in their last four games. Auburn is 24-9 on the season, 13-7 in SEC games, 5-1 on a neutral floor, 17-14-1 against the spread and 17-15 with the over.

The Tigers are a strong offensive team, putting up just under 80 points per game while shooting 37.4 percent from the arc. Defensively, Auburn is giving up 68.4 points per game while holding opponents to 42.9 percent shooting. Bryce Brown is leading the team with 15.8 points per game while Jared Harper is adding 15.2 points and 5.9 assists per contest.

College Basketball Betting Trends

Florida

The Gators have covered the spread in four straight neutral-site games and 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a winning team.

Auburn

The Tigers have covered in four straight following a win, but is just 5-11 ATS in their last 16 Saturday games.

Prediction:

Auburn earned a 14-point win at home over Florida back on Feb. 5. The Gators managed to outscore LSU on Friday, which is not a common winning strategy for the Gators. Florida needs to win with defense, but I think that will be a challenge against Auburn. The Tigers can consistently score and also have the capability to lock in on defense. Florida had a much tougher grind yesterday and that added fatigue could play a factor today.

College Basketball Prediction: Auburn -3
