Cornhuskers win again

Nebraska has picked up wins over Rutgers and Maryland this week, and the Huskers were the underdog in both. The 13 seed, Nebraska has won and covered in three straight overall. The Cornhuskers are 18-15 overall, 8-14 in Big Ten games, 4-1 on a neutral floor, 16-15-1 against the spread and 17-14 with the under.

The Cornhuskers are a strong defensive team, giving up just 66.4 points per game while opponents shoot 41.5 percent against them. Offensively, Nebraska is putting up 71.9 points per game while shooting 42.9 percent as a team. James Palmer Jr. is putting up 19.7 points per game while Glynn Watson Jr. is adding 13.2 points per game.

Wisconsin playing well

Wisconsin is the 4 seed this weekend. The Badgers have won five of their last six and three straight coming into this game. Wisconsin is now 22-9 on the season, 14-6 in the Big Ten, 2-1 on a neutral floor, 16-14-1 against the spread and 17-13 with the under.

The Badgers are one of the best defensive teams in the country, allowing just 61.2 points per game while holding opponents to 39.2 percent shooting. Offensively, Wisconsin scores just 69.6 points per game while shooting 45.6 percent as a team. Ethan Happ is leading the team with 17.8 points, 10.4 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game. D’Mitrik Trice is adding 11.9 points per contest.

College Basketball Betting Trends

Nebraska

The Cornhuskers are just 5-11 against the spread in their last 16 Big Ten games and 24-6 ATS in their last 30 games following a win.

Wisconsin

The Badgers are 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight Big Ten games, but 4-1 ATS in their last five on a neutral site.

Prediction:

Wisconsin won the lone meeting this season, 62-51, at Nebraska back on Jan. 29. The Badgers have a great defense that is facing a poor Nebraska offense. The Cornhuskers have to have weak legs playing their third game in 48 hours with an already thin bench. Wisconsin isn’t much of an offensive power either, so there is some concern that they could struggle shooting and make this a game. However, I look for the Badgers to wear out the Cornhuskers today.

College Basketball Prediction: Wisconsin -7.5
