Red Raiders drop fourth straight

Texas Tech lost 66-62 at home against top-ranked Kansas Saturday to fall to 18-13 overall and 9-9 in conference action. The Red Raiders trailed 32-24 at halftime and could not rally all the way back. Davide Moretti led Texas Tech with 18 points on 6-of-14 shooting including 2-of-7 from 3-point range plus 4-of-4 at the free throw line. He also registered five rebounds and two assists. T.J. Holyfield added 11 points, three boards, three blocked shots and two dimes.

Longhorns struggle versus Cowboys

Texas lost 81-59 at home versus Oklahoma State Saturday in its regular season finale to drop to 19-12 overall and 9-9 in Big 12 play. The Longhorns trailed 43-21 at halftime and were unable to recover. Kai Jones paced Texas with 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting including 2-of-5 from 3-point range plus 2-of-2 at the charity stripe. He also accounted for seven rebounds and two steals. Matt Coleman III added 18 points in 38 minutes of action.

College Basketball Betting Trends

Texas Tech

The Red Raiders are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 neutral site games. Texas Tech is 1-4 ATS in its last five games as a favorite.

The Longhorns are 4-0 ATS in their last four games as an underdog. Texas is 5-1 ATS in its last six games overall.

The Red Raiders might be the better team in this matchup, but Texas had been playing inspired basketball prior to its embarrassing performance on Senior Day. Included in the previous five-game winning streak was a 68-58 win at Texas Tech, while the Longhorns only lost the home matchup by a count of 62-57 when they were not quite playing as good of basketball. While the Texas Tech schedule has been difficult lately, it is difficult to endorse it as this size of a favorite. I feel far more comfortable taking the points with Texas.
