According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Jayhawks are 8.5-point favorites over the Wildcats after the line opened at Kansas -7.5. While the Wildcats are just 3-7 against the spread over their last 10 games, the Jayhawks are 8-2 ATS over their last 10.
Bill Self said earlier this week that ideally he doesn't want to tax players too much before the NCAA Tournament next week. While Self indicated that his not planning on a minutes limit for his top guys, he also may go to his bench earlier then bettors would prefer.
This opens up an opportunity to take the points with Kansas State, even though the Wildcats lost their previous two games to the Jayhawks 77-59 on February 3 in Lawrence and 72-63 on February 20 in Manhattan. If freshman Dean Wade can do what he did yesterday versus Oklahoma State (a career-best 20 points) and shoot the lights out, then K-State should hang with its in-state rival.
