The Big Ten Tournament is a standard 14-team tournament with two opening-round games on Wednesday. The 5-10 seeds then await in Thursday’s second round and the top four seeds await in Friday’s quarterfinals. The tournament concludes on Sunday with all games being played from the United Center in Chicago.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Wisconsin is favored to win this week’s tournament, as it has 10/11 odds. Other short odds to win are Ohio State (9/2), Maryland (7/1) and Michigan State (7/1).
Wisconsin is the top seed this week after going 28-3 on the season and 16-2 in the Big Ten. The Badgers are two-time winners of this event, last winning the title in 2008.
Ohio State is actually the sixth seed this week. The Buckeyes were just 11-7 in the Big Ten but are 22-9 on the season. Ohio State has won this tournament four times, tied for the most of any team. The Buckeyes last won in 2013.
Maryland is the No. 2 seed. The Terrapins went 26-5 on the season and 14-4 in conference play. Maryland is making its debut in this tournament.
Michigan State is the No. 3 seed this week. The Spartans are 21-10 on the season and 12-6 in conference play. MSU is a four-time winner of this tournament and the defending champion.
