Friday's SEC Tournament Picks

NCAA Predictions: Who will cover in the SEC Tournament on Friday? 3/9/18

The SEC Tournament will host four quarterfinal games on Friday, March 9, 2018. Here’s our predictions for all four contests.

*Note – We will adds picks for the other games as their odds come out. Be sure to check back.

845 Alabama +5.5 vs. 846 Auburn, 1PM ET (ESPN)

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Auburn is the favorite in this game, as the Tigers are getting odds of -5.5 points against Alabama. These two rivals split their season series, with the home team winning each matchup. Both teams enter the SEC Tournament struggling, as the Tigers have lost three of their last five while Bama had lost five straight prior to a win yesterday. Even the win was just by one point for the Tide. Auburn dominated the last meeting, getting 16 more shots than Alabama. I think Auburn is the better team and should be motivated to hand its biggest rival a big loss to start the tournament. SEC PREDICTIONS: 846 AUBURN -5.5

Bet on SEC for Friday, March 9, 2018

847 Georgia +5.5 vs. 848 Kentucky, 3:25PM ET (ESPN)

Oddsmakers see a similar spread for this game, making Kentucky a 5.5-point favorite against Georgia. Kentucky won the lone encounter this season on Dec. 31, 66-61. However, the Bulldogs covered and are 3-1 against the spread in their last four with Kentucky. The Wildcats have had an up-and-down season with their young roster, but they had won four straight prior to a loss to Florida. I think the Wildcats could be a force in March and it starts this weekend. I expect the Wildcats to start putting it together and it begins with a win over Georgia. The Bulldogs are reliant one star in Yante Maten while UK has a lot of scoring options. SEC PREDICTIONS: 848 KENTUCKY -5.5

Matchup histories for Friday, March 9, 2018

849 Mississippi State +6 vs. 850 Tennessee, 7PM ET (SEC Network)

Oddsmakers like Tennessee tonight, as the Vols are getting odds of -6 points against the Bulldogs. Tennessee dominated Mississippi State in their only meeting this season, 76-54. That game was at Mississippi State as well. The Vols look like they could be the team to beat this weekend as they have won four straight coming in and covered in three of those four wins. The Bulldogs won last night, but are 0-3-1 ATS in their last four. I don’t see them being able to make enough changes to turn a 22-point loss at home into a competitive game on a neutral floor in just a matter of weeks. SEC PREDICTIONS: 850 TENNESSEE -6

Who is the public betting on tonight?

851 Arkansas +4 vs. 852 Florida, 9:30PM ET (SEC Network)

Florida is the slight favorite in this last quarterfinal, as oddsmakers are having them give up 4 points. The Gators have dominated this series, winning the last eight meetings while covering the spread in four straight encounters. Florida picked up an 88-73 win at home over the Razorbacks back on Jan. 17. The Gators are also coming in with some momentum, having beaten Auburn, Alabama and Kentucky in their last three games. I think Florida continues to build on that and picks up a comfortable win over Arkansas. SEC PREDICTIONS: 852 FLORIDA -4
