Will Wildcats have winning formation vs. Pokes?
In order to capture their first Big 12 tournament win since 2013, Kansas State must conquer Oklahoma State tonight at 7 p.m. ET.
Online sports book Bovada.lv likes Bruce Weber’s group to accomplish exactly that, currently listing the Wildcats as 5-point favorites.
The recent play in Manhattan, however, hasn’t been provided much about which to write home. K-State collapsed in the second halves of crucial home contests vs. Kansas and Texas before getting rocked on the road by Iowa State on Feb. 27.
Of course, the Jayhawks, Longhorns and Cyclones all enjoy top-25 recognition. Travis Ford’s injury-depleted Cowboys can only dream of such lofty ground. Their most recent victory occurred a whopping three-and-a-half weeks ago.
Fortunately for the Oklahoma State faithful, that fleeting moment of satisfaction came against Kansas State. OSU somehow rallied without its indispensable backcourt duo of Phil Forte and Jawun Evans to claim an overtime thriller.
Then reality hit – hard. The Pokes dropped their final six conference affairs by an average of 15.5 points, struggling to pinpoint a secondary scoring source behind sturdy senior guard Jeff Newbery.
Kansas State seems primed to sprint past them, too, despite a dubious showing at Texas Tech last weekend. Trust in the Wildcats' respectable 15-12 mark against the spread and Weber’s proven track record at Sprint Center.
