Wildcats edge Pirates
Villanova earned a 79-77 victory Wednesday night at Big East frontrunner Seton Hall to pull within one game in the conference standings. The Wildcats (23-7, 12-5 Big East) led 33-30 at halftime on their way to the triumph. Saddiq Bey paced Villanova with 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting including 2-of-6 from 3-point distance plus 4-of-7 at the free throw line. He also contributed three rebounds. Jermaine Samuels tallied 19 points, seven boards and five assists. Justin Moore accounted for 19 points, three caroms, three assists and two steals. Hoyas drop fifth straight
Georgetown suffered a 91-76 loss Wednesday night at Creighton to drop to 15-15 overall and 5-12 in conference action. The Hoyas trailed 48-33 at halftime and were unable to recover. Jahvon Blair paced Georgetown with 22 points on 8-of-23 shooting including 3-of-8 from 3-point range plus 3-of-3 at the charity stripe. He also notched seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals. College Basketball Betting Trends
The favorite is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings. The road team is 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings.
Georgetown is 126-165 ATS in home games since 1997. Three of the last five meetings have gone under the total.
The Hoyas have played fairly poorly as of late but the chance of playing spoiler at home in their regular season finale should have them up for this matchup. Georgetown has been competitive in almost all home games this season and this spread seems a bit too wide for my liking. Villanova has been inconsistent and after beating Seton Hall, it might step into this setting with a little too much confidence. Going with Georgetown here.
