Wildcats stumble against Vols

Kentucky lost by an 81-73 score Tuesday night at home versus Tennessee to drop to 24-6 overall and 14-3 in conference action. The Wildcats were outscored 50-31 in the second half after leading by nine at the break. Tyrese Maxey paced Kentucky with 21 points in 37 minutes of action on 8-of-15 shooting including 2-of-4 from 3-point distance plus 3-of-3 at the free throw line. Immanuel Quickley accounted for 15 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals. Nick Richards tallied 12 points, nine boards and two blocked shots. Ashton Hagans added 11 points and four dimes.

Gators ease past Bulldogs

Florida earned a 68-54 win Wednesday night at Georgia to improve to 19-11 overall and 11-6 in SEC play. The Gators outscored the Bulldogs 40-24 in the second half after trailing by two at the break. Keyontae Johnson led Florida with 18 points on 8-of-14 shooting including 1-of-4 from 3-point range plus 1-of-2 at the charity stripe. He also accumulated 11 rebounds, three assists and two steals. Noah Locke tallied 17 points, five boards and two dimes. Scottie Lewis added 11 points, two assists and two blocked shots.

College Basketball Betting Trends

The underdog is 2-9 ATS in the last 11 meetings. The Wildcats are 2-3 ATS in the last five meetings.

The Gators are 9-20 ATS in their last 29 home games. Florida is 8-18 ATS in its last 26 Saturday games.

It is strange seeing Kentucky as an underdog considering how it ran through the SEC schedule for a long enough portion of time to clinch the SEC title with a couple games remaining. But with Florida fighting for its NCAA Tournament lives and having squandered its last home game against a top team when it played Baylor, I see the hosts rising to the occasion here. Kentucky took its foot off the gas pedal Wednesday and with this being another road game, I don't see much changing.
