Golden Eagles fall to Bluejays

Marquette lost by a score of 66-60 at home for its second straight defeat Sunday against Creighton to drop to 23-6 overall and 12-4 in conference action. The Golden Eagles were outscored 37-27 in the second half of the loss. Marquette shot 21-of-46 from the floor, 8-of-23 from 3-point range and 10-of-12 from the free throw line. Markus Howard was the lone Golden Eagles player in double figures for scoring as he had 33 points on 11-of-21 shooting including 4-of-11 from 3-point range plus 7-of-9 at the charity stripe. He also notched three assists, two rebounds and two steals.

Pirates lose in double OT

Seton Hall lost its third straight game Saturday night by a count of 77-71 in double overtime at Georgetown. The Pirates were outscored 35-31 in the second half to send the contest into halftime at 59, while it went into the second OT at 66-66. Seton Hall shot 29-of-79 from the field, 9-of-29 from 3-point distance plus 8-of-14 at the free throw line. Myles Powell paced the Pirates by pouring in 35 points on 14-of-27 shooting including 4-of-12 from 3-point range plus 3-of-4 at the free throw line. He also secured five rebounds and two assists. Sandro Mamukelashvili added 14 points, 11 boards and two blocked shots.

College Basketball Betting Trends

Marquette

The road team is 19-5-1 ATS in the last 25 meetings. The Golden Eagles are 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games.

Seton Hall

The Pirates are 2-5 ATS in their last seven Wednesday games. Seton Hall is 2-7 ATS in its last nine home games.

Prediction:

Seton Hall lost its last home game by one point, while winning the previous three straight up. With Marquette struggling in its last couple games and perhaps overachieving all season, I like the Pirates' chances here at home. Seton Hall kept it close to the tune of 70-66 at Marquette back on January 12, so this should be another close one where Seton Hall has a good chance of winning straight up.
